Sense and Sensibility - Font Making Workshop

€100.00

Sense & Sensibility is a workshop designed to guide you on a fascinating journey between the geometric rigour of shapes and the warm naturalness of handwritten writing, showing how even seemingly simple letterforms can reveal surprising emotional nuances.

The Details:

By examining some classics of sans serif design, the workshop will equip participants with the tools to distinguish between geometric and humanist sans, a subtle yet essential difference for using typefaces consciously and understanding their impact not only on aesthetics but also on emotional perception.

The workshop experience condenses over twenty years of research by the Zetafonts design team and will feature a series of case studies and practical examples on how to use typography more effectively to inform, communicate, and shape visual identity, from publishing to logo design.

You will need pens, pencils and a few sheets of paper.

Workshop Over Two Sessions:
February 3rd and 10th - 6pm

MEET COSIMO

Creative director at Zetafonts, Cosimo is a type designer, graphic artist, lecturer, and Creative Direction professor. Since buying his first typeface (a Letraset transfer of the Arnold Boecklin font) at the age of nine, he has continued experimenting with letters, both written and drawn.

He lives in Florence with a cat named Bodoni and too many books, confident in David Carson's belief that "Graphic Design will save the world, right after Rock and Roll has done its job."
