Collaging What We Remember and What We Want to Reimagine
The Workshop
In this poetic and experimental workshop, we’ll use digital collage as a way to reimagine our personal memories. Participants are invited to look through their own photo archives - travel snapshots, everyday moments, forgotten folders - and transform them into surreal, dreamlike compositions.
The Details
Through guided exercises and open conversation, we’ll explore how colour, texture and layering can shift the meaning of an image. What happens when we distort reality, when a memory becomes something imagined or when fragments of our past turn into landscapes that never existed?
Rather than focusing on technical skill, this session is about feeling and intuition, working with what you already have, trusting your visual impulses and allowing unexpected connections to appear.
By the end of this 90-minute workshop, you will have created your own “fantastic landscape”: a visual reflection of transformed memory, something both familiar and entirely new. Ultimately, you will walk away with a renewed sense of connection to your memories and the confidence to use creative play as a form of reflection and storytelling.
What you’ll need:
Please bring a small selection of personal photos from your phone or computer - images that hold memories, emotions or stories you’d like to revisit. These can be everyday moments, travel snapshots, portraits or even “imperfect” pictures.
We’ll be working with Adobe Photoshop (any version is fine). Please make sure you have it installed and ready to use before the session.
A mouse or drawing tablet is helpful, but not essential.
Date: 28 August 2026, 6pm CET. Online
